Plugin Dev: Best practices for handling task cancellation & resource cleanup in Winstis SDK

Sharing an optimization tip for CPU-intensive plugins (like video transcoding or hashing).

If a user dismisses the modal midway, underlying tasks may linger and waste CPU cycles.

Solution: Leverage winstis.runtime.onDispose alongside standard AbortController:

const controller = new AbortController();
winstis.runtime.onDispose(() => controller.abort());

This guarantees prompt cleanup whenever the context dialog unmounts!

Learned something new! I missed clearing an interval inside onDispose, which led to a creeping memory leak.

Exactly. Dismissing plugin modals must cancel active timers and streams to maintain a pristine memory footprint.
